Is it normal to buy more than 1 kit, eventhough i know that 1 kit s gonna take 1-2 months to complete?? Or it's just compulsive buying??? Everytime i see a kit that i like i really wanna buy them. Can't let the wife know stashing kits tho. How bout u guys???

Its very much a case of buy it while you can. Once they go out of production, the price just goes up as the demand increases....

I can think of a few kits that with hind sight I would of bought a few of when they first came out...and paid the same as I would for one today.

There are also those that have no spine and fold at the first sighting of a new kit.

Its all part of the game/fun.

I picked up 2 new ones today (and pretty sure the guy at the till over-charged me), but since my camera is not feeling well I have no pics.

For the record though, they are the "Revell" Type IIB U-boat (144 scale) and a Ju-87 by Zvezda, also in 144 scale.

I thought the minicraft Ju-88 was crap but wow, this one is even worse! And it's made out of a shiny plastic, which even after cleaned with warm soapy water, still feels slick. I just know I am going to have paint adherence issues with it, but at 5$ , I couldn't really pass it up... I won't quit on it, yet.

If you were overcharged at $5, it must be a really bad kit... Which store in Calgary did you buy them from?

Chinook hobby west.

The guy tried to charge me 9.99 for a can of primer that was clearly labeled 7.99. He may have still found a way to upcharge me by 'making a mistake' when he 'voided' the transaction.

Normally they're pretty good and I have no problems, only when that one older guy is manning the till... (may be close to retirement ;) )

Just got these off ebay:

According to the Plastruct website, these sell at £9.65 per pack of 6 figures. Don't waste your money folks! They're not particularly good quality with huge mould seams and very basic detail.

I'm not complaining. I got two packs of 6 figures for 99p + £2.50 P&P. I can live with that.

Ah, I know exactly who you mean... :) I rarely go in Chinook these days, they have a pretty meagre selection of kits but they do still have a good range of paints and tools.

A friend in Arizona just sent me this as a gift:

I love the old Matchbox kits. This will be in a Canadian scheme.

Just collected a parcel from the post office,

Loads of goodies; wheelbays and masks for the Lightning, A resin canopy and some paints for the Arado and this:

Actually if you haven't been there lately, it's probably worth checking out. They have recently overhauled the shop and have added a new selection of kits. And they have made more of an attempt at organizing them too, so you don't have to wander all over the shop looking for "that one..."
