I made one of these years ago when it was sold under the original manufacturer Monograms label.A very good kit with lots of interior detail as i remember.My local overpriced hobby shop has a couple on its shelves.Might have to get one.

As for the weathering, not sure as to how to achive this-specifically the sun faded paint. I saw something once about gradually adding more white to the mix and to highlite certain panels. Martin specified to not use primer both on the exterior and interior of the aircraft, probably due to weight issues. Thanks again, Jeff

Ok, here we go:

For starters there are several interior colors to choose as each factory in the USA was held to a certain "standard". All black, a bronze green, a clear lacquer over aluminum, olive green and zinc chromate are all contenders. I used MM acryl interior green mixed 50-50 with green zinc chromate. I then drybrushed Citadel silver paint over the ribs and various boxes.

After using Gator glue and Klear\Future to secure the cabin windows I started painting the cockpit. Here are a few progress pics that finish with a oil wash of raw umber. The IP decal was used and looks the part when viewed through the glass:

Looking good Jeff.

One way of Sun fading the paint could be to paint as you normally do, then give the finished job a very light dusting with a very thin sandy colour before the final sealing coat.

Having seen your other builds I am sure that you can get that to work.
