So had a look at what you others were proposing, threw the Gladiator back on the stash, then the Albatros followed. So walked away and went looking for something else I was also looking for and found this...

Been in my possesion for decades, so I am going to attempt to put glue to pastic...

The kit....

Reference material, I am sure I do have a further book on the Hart family somewhere...

And I am sure there are some markings in among this lot I can use...
And if not I can always revert back to AC/DC or this....

Like Andrew, I've not seen a vac kit built before so this will be interesting. It will be nice to see how construction differs from a usual kit.

I’ll pull up a seat if I may, i have a Sanger aew avro shack that is vac formed, I remember opening the kit and putting it away just as quickly something along the lines of my ambition out weighed my abilities!!!

I've worked with a vac formed canopy before. And that was enough for me, one wrong cut and it was game over. So, a whole vac form kit, I'll happily watch you build it Michael.

I had the same feelings and ambitions when I bought these (Yes I have four more hidden away).

Betty will be barred from the room, I am removing the bull from the china shop....
Still no sign of pointed shoe yet - but was wondering the other day that if they turned of their heating, and with all this cold weather we have had and with even colder weather forcast for after the new year things could get very interesting with water and burst pipes....
But we did have a fire at some flats up the road today, Paul my neighbour came around with two cans of Polish beer so we could watch the proceedings in comfort.. Result was the tennant did not like living there so set the flat on fire, but it was just a small fire in the bathroom, but attended by two fire engines, two ambulances and seven police cars, who blocked the road to stop rubberneckers driving past and hitting one of the fire engines....
Yvonne thinks we are turning into a pair of curtain twitchers....

Will be watching this one.
I like the fact that its "unsuitable for children" because it contains white metal parts....And will need some very sharp knives to handle the cutting out. (not to mention nerve pills/booze to maintain your sanity).

Brave man mike , its going to be a real eye opener for most watchers . With your scratchbuilding skills though im sure its going to be no problem , the hardest bit will probably be all the endless sanding once cut out from the sheet . Cheers tony

It's not bad once you start to ignore the religious nutters, fried chicken eaters and those of a mental disorder brought on by smelling the weed - otherwise I try to avoid them when out in the car...

Yes I did try to get out of it when I pointed out to SWMBO that it is unsuitable for children - she told me they do not do my size in Pampers...

I learned the secret - fill the canopy with Blue Tack first...

Ok we can forget this one....
Came to cutting out the fuselage half which went as normal... The started to sand down to the required line and the fuselage just shattered... I inspected the rest of the sheet and found very small cracks and splits across the whole part. I can only assume that with the age of this kit the plastic has become brittle with age....
So ho! hum! back to the drawing board and I will look for another victim...
