Finished this excellnt bust from Mitches Military Models. 1/10th Bust of CMDR Nigel "Sharkey" Ward - Mr. Sea Harrier, a SBS can be seen here - https://www.planetfigure.com/threads/1-9th-nigel-sharky-ward-falklands-war-1982.307079/ . All painted with ScaleColour Artist acrylics. The Mask Clip has been made from fuse wire and milliput. Ear cord from Lead wire and retaining straps from twisted fuse wire.

Superb steve , absolutely superb . You figure painters must have sold your soul to the devil to be able to paint faces like that ! To us mere mortals its a black art that we never quite achieve :smiling5::cool:
( the emoji with the sunglasses on is the nearest thing i could get to the devil on this servers emoticons :tears-of-joy:)

Honestly its not as hard as you think, just, like everything it takes, practice. The big thing is keeping the layers transparent and no big colour changes. You need patience with acrylics to let a glaze dry before you add another one or you get a watery mess. And that's it.
 
Absolutely right Steve. It’s a mind set change more than anything else. Just get away from the interior decorator in you and stop trying to get one coat to cover all. Oh, and don’t expect to do it all in one sitting. To get a decent result from a single 1/35 figure would take me around two hours painting time. That is time used once assembly is complete and the undercoat is on, and I’m quite a quick painter.

I started on obi wan Nairobi eyes tonight, took over an hour for something less than 4mm wide !
