Thin strips of masking tape along the wing ribbing saved time highlighting the raised detail.

Some silver dry brushing to pick out details on the spring cylinder heads and exhausts.

I hand painted the silver bidding edge for the pilots cockpit. Effects of the thin masking can be seen here. Weathering comes next...

The struts were next to get attention. I sprayed a base coat of yellow ochre and misted a layer of red brown and concentrated thicker coats to the ends...

Masking the tips I sprayed nato black for the attachment ends...

Same was done for the propeller except I emphasised the wood grains with a paint brush...

On this you will see the slight overlap of the top olive coat surface onto the edges of the underside of the wings...some creepage were attende to later easlily with an eraser.

Hi guys, John and Tim...you're up and early. Great to show this again although it's a first here. The prop is wierd as I still don't know why the tips are grey in color. Perhaps one of you will know.

Not that early Richard, ten to nine here LOL. Don’t know about the prop, but perhaps a visibility thing? It wouldn’t shine or reflect where they were trying to look.....

Hi Tim, could be.
At first I thought they were metal sheaths to protect the blades from being shot off by the Vickers but the Vickers had an actuator rod connected directly to the engine so that possibility was off.

I've seen other planes with tips like that, why I found out was for saftey reasons, so they would show up when running .

You're probably right John. In WW2 the tips of the blades were painted yellow. :tears-of-joy: These seem overly caucious with some painted almost half of the blade.

Weathering was achieved with my mix of brown and black watercolour and a dash of detergent.

Lots of pictures show heavy grime and exhaust deposits on the front and above around the fuel caps.
