WHATS that then that big lanc ?

The Lanc is expected to hit the shelves later this month. I will hold off for a bit to see some builds and what aftermarket arrives for it.

No, the ICM Do17Z-2 is next.

I should add that I only decided to start the Mirage kit to get it out of the way, one way or another. It was what I call an ‘oddity’ in my stash.

Thank goodness Vacform kits had been fazed out when you started in this hobby.:smiling2:

Cheers,

For 600+ quid it shouldn't need ANY aftermarket stuff.
Well, some masks for the markings, I certainly won’t use decals on a kit like that. I want to also look at instrument panels, a nice 3D Decal set from someone, from Kits World perhaps or Quanta should Russia be readmitted to the civilised world. The ‘flat’ normal decals with the kit cannot possibly compete and, again, it would be a shame not to kick such a kit up a notch.

I just had this amusing picture come to mind of one of the Lanc wing roundels completely filling the saucer I generally use for decal soaking....... :smiling2:

From the reviews I have seen the IP just needs painting. It looked well detailed to me.
Considering that you nearly always mask and spray your markings Barry, Have you ever considered buying a mask cutting machine?

It has decals for the instruments Ian and while no doubt they are good they really cannot compare to 3D Decals and I will want the best for this kit.

As for a mask cutting machine, it’s a good thought and a whole new set of skills to learn. Something to consider.

Having read a lot of your reviews I've started having a genuine look at what I get...

I've steered towards ICM and ZM and fallen back on Tamiya as a reliable supply.

You get what you pay for in most cases.
