Seat all painted up now although a test fit shows that hardly any of it is visible!.

I’m calling the Instrument panel done, its had a drybrush with white to try and highlight the needles on the dials ( not totally succesful) , a touch up and blobs of gloss clear for the glass . Its not eduard but itll be fine . 
Tony, I just took out my kit to have a look at the instrument panel. Yes it's visible so all that work you've done is not wasted.:smiling2: Very good and enough to fool even at close range. :thumb2:

Got a bit more done on this last week but been too busy to post anything so heres an update. The problem of the nose weight has been ( hopefully) solved by adding plenty of weight in the form of 3 circular discs of lead cut from an old piece of roofing lead sheet ,sandwiched between the cockpit and the nose intake assembly. The fuselage has now been glued together and the tail fitted . The tail took quite a bit of fettling to get a decent join , the top of the fuselage was round and the underneath of the tail flat , plus I had to widen the front of the tail with a sliver of plastic card so it matched the spine on the fuselage. Another area that needed careful assembly was the nose intake . The location of the central nose cone was very vague , but its essential its bang central so a lot of dry fitting and adjusting went on before final gluing.
A test fit of the elevators shows a lot of work needed here too , the huge gap needs sorting .

Pivot the stabilisers up or down, the gap won’t be obvious then 
It actually makes it worse jakko ! I think just reducing the small fillet on the fuselage and taking a little off the elevator should close it up ok .
Not a bad fit really jim , compared to something like an Amodel kit or any other limited run jobbie . It just needs a bit of thought and a lot of dry fitting and fettling!
Bit more done today , the top wings were attached first to get a decent joint the after the glue had gone off the bottom wings were added . The underside joint needs a bit of a smooth off but in general its decent fit. The exhaust nozzle supplied in the kit is a bit simplified and after looking at photographs of the real thing it was enhanced a bit and now looks a lot more like the actual one . The cockpit area also needs to be sorted before I can glue on the windscreen and temporarily attach the rear canopy . The canvas shroud behind the instrument panel was made using microporous surgical tape which was cut slightly bigger and then wrinkled up a bit and stuck on . 2 coats of khaki and it will be fine. The area behind the seat under the rear canopy has some gubbins there but the kit didnt supply anything so into the spares box and some random bits were stuck on to give a rough impression of this area which is impossible to find a good photo of btw, so its a big dollop of artistic licence! Also missing for the cockpit is the prominent gun camera . This is the thing that looks like a grey saucepan resting on the instrumen panel top and is a feature of most cold war soviet fighters. I used some bits of sprue and rod to make this and it will be fitted before the windscreen is glued on .

The extra detail is lifting this ever upwards Tony. Great stuff!
I think its ESCI jakko , the only reason I know is that ive only done one 1/35 armour , the sdkfz anti aircraft halftrack so it must have come from that ! Ive since added a pair of braces and a guide rail so it doesnt look as obvious now! :smiling5:
