Got the wings put together, fitted the wheels, filled the unused cannon port and fitted the air intake. Also started to work on the wheel wells.

It's been a long time since I built an aircraft, but looking at this and your 1:24 hurricane build, they are outstanding, just wish sometimes I didn't have to many builds planned.
It's a pleasure to follow your builds Ian.

Tony

Fantastic work Ian , ive always fancied one of these but been put off by reports of a terrible fit , yours just goes to show that with a bit of care and a good dollop of modelling skills its no problem and an excellent result can be obtained . Off to ebay to look for a spitfire then :rolling::worried:

Cheers Tony, I hope you do get one I’m sure you’ll do a great job of it.

Brilliant - you've avoided the dreaded droopy wings. This model does have a bit of a bad reputation, but as you've proved, it's really not that bad.

Looking good so far Ian.
Must add that I like your painting holders.

Got the main colours on, going to let it dry now for 24 hours. Then I’ll do the yellow parts of the wings and exhausts.
