SimonT - "Does my bum look big in this?" A wee lass in an armoured battle suit

HI Si well you have made a fantastic job of buildin this model so in my opinion it is much harder to pull off an you have done that with ease it looks real with the colours an the metal effect so jullie an that wabbit should be easy just my opinion but im sure you have the skills to do it
All best chris

Hi Simon
Coming on a treat. Not far to go now and the "wee lass" to take her place.
Jim

That's brilliant Simon. Just a touch of 4 BO adds class to the proceedings.
That red is a great shade, just right.

Thread owner
Rick / Neil - thanks both

Cheers Chris

Jim - ah, the wee lass. Made a start on her suit - she is tiny

John - thought you'd like the 4BO :smiling5:

Fernando - not the worlds best canopy but it is better than solid resin original

Well, I am feeling absolutely crap at the moment - somehow I have managed to pick up a nasty bug. Shortness of breath, coughing and sneezing, very thirsty, loss of appetite even though feeling hungry - no fever or continuous coughing so doesn't match the cv19 symptoms

Sitting still and painting seemed a good option in between bouts of falling asleep so.....

made a start on her suit - can hardly see her to paint she is tiny and trying to figure out which bits are her and which are suit is a nightmare

dmb-051_2020-9-6.jpg
a bit of shading on the seat with a dark green oil brusher

after some highlights I will pick out the frame in grey

there are still a few rough bits to sort - they don't show up as much 1:1

Take care Simon, Hope you are feeling better soon. Great progress on the lass looks like you are keeping it between the lines.:thumb2: Rick H.

Coming on well Simon. With respect to the figure, small figures can be really hard to read sometimes. I find the best approach is to prime in grey or white, then give the whole figure a colour wash using Vallejo Game colour black wash. This brings out the detail making the figure much easier to read for painting.
Hope you recover soon.

Hi Simon
You take care. Hope you feel better soon and if not take Paul's advice. I've painted a few 1/72 figures so this wee girlie must be a nightmare.
Jim

Coming along really nicely Mr T :thumb2:
I see you been unwell and away from here.....Hope you feeling better now?

Yes I agree, hope you are better Simon, I'm sure it's the result of sleeping in a damp cave up on them moors. :anguished:

Hi Simon

Hope your feeling better. This is looking very nice. Not my thing as a rule but coming on nicely indeed.

Hi Simon
Hope you're ok. Certainly missing the unique modelling of the Yorkshire Scratch Meister.
Take care.
Jim

This is getting serious...doesn't anyone know how to contact Simon?

Richard

Worrying indeed, and keenly missed. Hopefully he's just taking a break from the desk.

Dittos to all of the above posts......not like he's on holiday, with half the world on lock down.

I pray you are keeping well and are on the road to recovery!

I'm liking this! Love the metallic red and the scratch building!:thumb2:
