Some Bad News

Dave, It's good to hear that the medication seems to be working just keep taking small steps and stay positive.

For the first time, in a month or two, I actually haven't fallen asleep in the afternoon! I do feel that the iron infusion for the anemia is beginning to take effect, fingers crossed.................
Dave
Good to read that Dave.

Falling asleep during the day really spooked me - it could be 10 minutes or an hour or two - didn't seem to matter if I had a good nights' sleep or not!
Dave
Don’t let it worry you Dave. Happens to me a lot, mostly due to meds and RA. It’s a natural thing in the animal kingdom, and we are only animals after all.

Same here....after my radiotherapy i would get very fatigued but i decided from the start not to fight it......even now 6 months later it still troubles me but if i feel the need for a nap then i have one

As my mam used to say.....sleep is the bodies way of healing

Got a date for seeing the consultant to talk over the scan results & where we go from here - 24th September. I've still no enthusiasm for benchtime, but I've stirred myself to change the nozzle & replace the build plate on my 3D printer, so, that'll be muttering overnight...............

There was a cancellation, so I was able to drop everything and go to Gloucester Royal to see the consultant today.
Bad news & good news - the bad being that it was confirned by the biopsy that it was cancer ( as I had suspected ) The good news - it IS operable, and the MRI & CT scans confirm it hasn't spread.
It seems that I may be scheduled for the op sometime in October, again I have to say the NHS has been quick, smooth and above all, human, in what has been a pretty miserable few weeks.

Dave, keep the faith and positivity. I know how big of a struggle it is to deal with cancer. Prayers for you continuing and a healthy recovery.

Hi Dave,
That is good news, just keep strong matey and follow all the N.H.S. instructions.

Whist it's not the news you wanted in terms of it being cancerous, at least they can operate on it. Good luck with the next steps.

Andrew
