In August 1941 the 'Legless' British fighter pilot, Douglas Bader allegedly collided with an Me109 over Germany.
Whilst trying to eject from his stricken Spitfire, his right prosthetic limb wedged behind a control pedal. He eventually managed to fall free, but his 'Leg' remained in the aircraft.

He survived the landing and remained in captivity until the end of the war.

The book 'Reach for the Sky' is well worth a read.

Further reading of the actual incident is also recommended.

No trickery or superimposing stuff. Just first class 'Chuckery' on the wife's part.....
