Talking Of Decals...
Just saw a video on YouTube Eduards New decals.
The carrier film is on the top and once the decals are dry, you peel the film off leaving a "painted on look".
Could not find any info on Eduards webshop but a Google of "Eduards new decals" does the trick.
They look rather good when done!
Unless i am missing something, dont see the point. still need a gloss surface, use of Sol & set, which you do with normal decals. Peeling the carrier away runs the risk of scratching the painted surface and lifting the decal away - 5:03 on video.

Peeling the carrier away seems awkward to me as well, and is certainly not for everyone. However, the bonus is that you have no carrier film “step“ in the finish afterwards and the risk of silvering must be materially reduced as it’s usually the clear carrier film that causes that problem. Like most things, it seems worth a try.

A paper project model ( A-9 - swept forward wings, butterfly tail? ) in combat with P-59 Airacomets
Can you imagine the uproar when someone builds one of these fantasy things and I move it to the fantasy section.... lol

That would be what the tankies call chipping Steve. :tongue-out3::tongue-out3::tongue-out3:

I did wonder if masking tape could lift the film as well...

Used to be a very old technique with letraset if I recall correctly. Basically, if you wanted white lettering, spray the model white, put on letraset numbers over the white, paint the item the colour required, then lift the letraset using sellotape…….
Never tried it, and never will now ;)

Now I feel very old !
I have tried this and the trick is using enough pressure to get the letra-set to lay down and stay down but not so mush it was impossible to peel off again with the Sellotape..

What does “Magfire Compatible” mean? When I search for “Magfire” all I find are air rifles, which no doubt you can use on this F-16, but it would be a bit of a shame to do so, if you ask me.

Didn't Tamiya do something similar on the cowling of a 1/48 Bf 109? Or am I imagining things?

Be nice to see which Danish one they have found. Bet its the three tone grey one..... Gabe... (Danish for Yawn)
Should be interesting to see the kit though, their 'old'f-16' was pretty good wonder what they have done with a new tooling?

I do vaguely remember seeing it being used elsewhere for something but can't remember what....
It was Tamiya, they had them in the loose cowls so you could pop them off and show the Merlin off. Either they never fitted 100% or they fell off all the time. I think most left the magnets out and either glued the panels in or left them off.

Look like they're all for the Lanz Bulldog tractor...........

It should be noted that the Border Model U-boat is the conning tower and midships deck section in waterline - a full hull model would be 1.9m long!
Dave

Nice!! 1.9 meters, that would be an awesome build and require one whole shelf in the "Man" cave!! :thumb2: :thumb2:

Andrea Miniatures used to have a full Type VII in 1:32. I saw it for sale at Euro Militaire 20 years ago, the hull (fibreglass, IIRC) was packed in what amounted to a two-metre-long wine crate :)
