Spots on the Internet (2022)

It would seem that Revell are reboxing more of the ICM range - I haven't seen any special adverts for this, but the Marder I & Sd.kfz 247 in 1/35, the Invader in 1/48 & the Tiger Moth in 1/32 have appeared under the Revell logo

I'd be interested in the 1/48 Invader for sure :)

On the Das Werk Facebook page - 'available late May'
das werk tiger late 01.jpg
'In cooperation with a well-known manufacturer' - moulded on Zimmerit, rubber band tracks...................
About the only thing I would say, is that Das Werk prices are normally pretty good

I'm in the market for a Tiger I Late. So this is good timing. At present i'm leaning towards the Trumpeter one.

I think the idea is a “what if?” model: “What if the Japanese had bought Tigers in quantity?” Sort of like the E-50, E-75 etc. German tanks, the American T29 heavy tank and more that all got released. But unlike those, to do this with a Tiger out of the box seems unnecessary to me: there are plentymore than enough Tiger kits as it is, and any modeller worthy of the name can add a Japanese machine gun and camouflage to one.

But the main reason seems to be as someone says in the thread I linked to above: “The Japanese themselves love this story” (of the Japanese Tiger), as witnessed by the manga covers he posts there too.

On the Takom Facebook page.............

These are variations on earlier models - if they are anything to go by, they'll be around the £50 mark - too rich for my blood! According to Scalemates these are based on Flyhawk Models originals, so a bit of research needed before buying!

I don't know how the situation has affected the import of Zvezda models, or if people are put off buying them, but the Zvezda STZ-5 is available

It'll be around the £27-30 nark. I only post this, as I know several people were interested in this, when it was announced pre-war. Looking at the instructions it has the usual Zvezda link & length tracks & looks very detailed!

It would seem that Trumpeter are looking into buying the molds made by Kitty Hawk /Panda models soon. Better plastics and maybe releasing some of the non-released KH kits they had in the pipeline. If so. I hope the Su-25K is one of them.

Seems that Trumpeter are preparing a 1/ 350 O class German battlecruiser. These were to be built within the Z plan.

So paper ship, apparently its one of the optional ships in world of warships? With so many suitable 'real' ships to chose from seems they are following the Japanese Tiger release.

On the Arma Hobby Facebook page - ready for pre-order
arma f-6c 01.jpg
Includes PE, masks, 4 decal options - and a template for scribing the camera hatch!

Also, on Facebook, ICM have posted 'we're working', and Miniart have posted pictures of completed customer models, good to see them attempting some normality............

As you say good to see that they're trying to keep going in the very difficult circumstances.

On the Meng Facebook page - 'available now' Hainan Assault Carrier in 1/700
meng hainan 1-700 01.jpgmeng hainan 1-700 02.jpgmeng hainan 1-700 03.jpg Not that impressed, helicopters look good, but the ship itself looks a little too simplified...........

Looks very much like the real one Jon. I think the image issues stem from the unmodulated paint finish and the photography. It’s just looks too flat, almost cartoonish.

Could be the photography and unmodulated painting...I've seen the Australian Assault carrier in the Sydney docks and it looked like a huge grey greenish marshmallow. :smiling6: Simplistic modern lines I guess.

Cheers,
Richard
