A bit late to the party but I’d like to join Colins' 90 year of the Spitfire GB with this Eduard 1/48 Spitfire Mk.IIa (84206) - Always liked the early dark green/dark earth scheme - I will build it ‘in flight’.

Although it’s a ‘Weekend edition’ the kit offers 5 paintschemes - I’ve picked out scheme B (“P7619, QVK”) on the left.

I first cut and cleaned all the cockpit parts,

Then glued the cockpit together,

I’m building the model ‘in flight’, so for a ‘closed’ canopy you need to remove a small portion of the right fuselage.

For the hatch I then need to use part ‘P55’.

I 3d printed a pilot in 1/48 but he sat to high on the seat, so I had to cut his legs and bottom… To make sure he fits I did a dryfit with the canopy.

Added some black vallejo primer…

That’s all for now, thanks for watching and have fun with the GB - Cheers

A very fast start!

I can't tell you how many times I checked the instructions before cutting the same section out for the canopy 😂

Looking good. Pilot fits well after his surgery. Nice to see that you're making an "in flight" model.
