The Border Models 1/32 Lancaster BI/III

I am very pleased that the problem has been identified, and you are under treatment. Very sad though that it is C.
As has been said, remain positive and fight the b#gger.
All the best Barry.

All the best Barry. Glad it is positive. As I have mentioned on another thread, I can't believe the amount of people I 'know' battling the horrible disease at the moment, but the positive is everyone I know is beating/has beaten it.

Good luck with it all Barry. Stay positive and get this thing kicked. Bench time is an irrelevance compared to this.

Sorry for you health problem, Barry but, as many have already said, your positive and fighting spirit will help a lot.
Best wishes and see you soon here with more of your fantastic models.

Working on the inner wings and this is how my bench looks right now…

I must say I don’t find it easy to pick up after so long but it’s onward and upwards.

Good to see you back at the bench. It must seem strange after a long absence but I'm sure all your skills will quickly come flooding back.

I managed to spend nearly two hours at the bench this morning and only had to break off as I am expecting my cleaners to arrive. I will be off to lunch on the town and M&S for some shopping while they are here. My freedom really is back.

anyway.

I managed to get some positive progress including some construction and air brushing. It did take a little longer than it would previously due to having to move around do on my wheelchair and raise it to get things, but it works!!

I am working on one on the inner wings and undercarriage. Looks good to me, fit perfect and I am breaking off at a good time as some cementing needs to dry throughly.

IMG_7946.jpg As Jim says this undercarriage is fragile but I am sure that it will hold up but the real problem is in the building.

Look at the cross piece, broke while fitting. The missing ‘arm’ is lost so I am going to use stretched sprue to fix it. But I will have to remove what’s left and fix it in place after the u/c is cemented into the wing. Because the main part of the u/c will flex it will only break when being fitted.

Today i did not get a great deal of visible progress as i only has an hour.

The undercarriage is always going to be a compromise between having it to scale and having it strong enough to support the model. It is very thin plastic after all. It does look good and the missing cross piece is easily replaced. As for lack of progress - you don't rush a kit like this.
