Thank you Colin for suggesting this one, How could we not honour this beautiful machine.
As Colin suggested, any Scale, any media. Just as long as it is a Spitfire (or Seafire for that matter). Any Nation any mark from the prototype to the last active spitfire.
If you want to join in just start a thread and have at it.
Choks away and all that ol' chap pip,pip and flood the cowlings.

I have three in the stash of various marks so I'll be digging one out shortly.....

I’ve got to pick up a parcel from the post office which will be very relevant to this gb 😊

I'm not sure if this counts. My late friend Lorna bought an Austin Seven "special" in 1958, her first car. A special is just an A7 that has had the body removed and a home made body fitted. The student who built the car told Lorna that he had visited a local RAF base and cut some of the skin from a scrapped Spitfire. Spitfires at the time were being scrapped and also used for target practice, so it's probably true. I restored the car but found no bullet holes! Lorna passed her driving test after buying Tily and drove the car to Czechoslovakia in 1959 with her husband navigating. He had been a Lancaster navigator during the war, but his eyesight was bad so he couldn't drive.

The car, Tily, with Lorna. She still drove the car regularly 10 years ago. Lorna left the car to me in her will.

What a great bit of history Lee. Imagine finding a bit of green paint on an inner panel !

Hi Gents, I was planning on building a Spitfire or two to celebrate the anniversary, so being new to the forum I'd like to join in if that's okay?

Please do.
And welcome.

There aren't many rules as such, just make sure it's an unstarted kit, and post sprue shots before you begin.

Oh, and enjoy 😁

Will do - I'll take some photo's and post something up.

Time to go shopping!
Well, I'm now just waiting for deliveries.

I like to stretch myself for GB's so taking an idea from another topic I've got a 1/48, 1/72, and a 1/144 on the way 😂

It took a while to locate suitable decals for the little 'uns to match the scheme I'd chosen for the 1/48, but hopefully I'll end up with three (almost) matching aircraft, in different scales.

I must be mad 🙃
