What's on the Bench 2023

This is currently back on the bench for the sprinkling of vegetation and general ground cover......once dry I'll seal it with SWMBO's hairspray and start work on organizing the diorama......might even start a Dio. build thread. P1012605.JPG

What's on the bench?

How about a new (temporary) bench?

Some of you may have seen me rumbling about working out in the shed so as a temporary measure I've rearranged my PC desk to give myself a little painting area for figures and small stuff. Should give me something to do when I don't fancy going outside and it all packs away into a small box to keep her indoors happy.

If it works out okay I may set up something more permanent in the other room, with space for extra paints etc.

Maybe even a build section. Baby steps :smiling3:

OOOOOOOO!!!.....Andy goes indoors!!!......And neatly too!!!........Film at 11pm!!!........The first step is always the hardest Sir...

Prost
Allen

Cheers Allen. I'm getting civilised in my old age :tears-of-joy:

I may try and run this past SWIMBO. I'm not going to hold my breath but I know she'll be at her weakest tomorrow as it's her birthday and she hates reminding she's older!!!!! So strike whilst she's not at her best. I have a desk that my PS sits on and little else other than the monitor!!! If I can fit the PS on the floor or inside the cabinet!!! Wish me luck!!!
Well it was a fail with a but!!!! I did negotiate moving some of the 'stuff' (Garden swing and summer paraphernalia out of the man cave). That alone gives me more room to tinker!!! (If the new arrival allows)IMG_0639.JPG

I decided to make a different fuel truck for use with the upcoming Dio ........started with this, it needs a lot of improving to suit my needs so I'll start a build thread on it.P1012607.JPG

Looking good...
... I've not built a Churchill yet either!
That looks to be a well detailed kit. :)

Would be interested in an SBS... Have a set on order!
Here you go. I found them pretty painless to assemble, as far as workable tracks go — the parts are pretty easy to clean up, they fit together well, and there’s only two pieces to a link :)

It is, but it takes some work to put together. Not that there’s bad fit, but it’s an AFV Club kit, which are never shake-the-box type deals. Think small parts, fragile parts, many of them, sometimes tight fit, large ejector pin nodules to remove, instructions that aren’t always perfectly clear where parts are to go, and similar small things like that.

Trying my hand at a 28mm miniature. How some of you get such great results at this scale is beyond me :surprised:

Still loads to do but I'm enjoying the process and the steep learning curve, and pleased with what I've done so far given my inexperience.

Besides, if I'm not happy at the end I can just dump it in the meths tub then give it my son to paint properly :smiling5:

Thanks Nick.

The hardest bit is not stuffing up what I've already done with a wayward brush stroke :smiling5:
