Scale Model Shop

Which model gave you most satisfaction in 2019?

Mine is this.

It's nothing special, just a quickbuild kit of a Paper Panzer and is my only completed kit so far this year BUT it's the first one I've finished painted with an airbrush.

Such an interesting selection. Mine would have to be the Airfix Vampire for the Starter Kit GB - the first part. It was basic with no pressure and the whole GB was fun. Watching experienced modellers being 10 years old again :smiling:

Some outstanding work. I'm embarrassed to choose a failure. Here is one that has a special place for me as it was a tough one on so many levels. I thought I had finally defeated my nemesis, resin, but then the rigging let me down. All nice & tight till the next morning. Lessons learned.

Bought once because of the cool box-art, it sat in the stash for some years before the GB gave me the mojo to tackle the splinter/mottle combo:smiling4:.

I'm going for this one, such an old kit but built up very well and I'm very happy with the painting of it.

The 1/32 Tamiya Mosquito - without a doubt, though my current build, the 1/32 Tamiya F16CJ is close...

Lovely builds all round guys...I would have loved to put the F-18D up here but the one that was an accomplishment and fun as it took ages to complete with a long hiatus in between plus a long name 10.5cm LeSH18(Sf) auf Geshutzwagon aka my little ugly tank...

I feel honoured to be able to share my work with such a great group of people. This is my choice The 1/35 tamyia M20.

I think this would be my favourite of the year, not only the fun of sculpting her but also finding out about these brave ladies, who I had not heard of before.

2020 I plan to improve my painting with acrylics

For me it's got to be my Revell 1\48 B29 a kit that I enjoyed building and very pleased with the results.20190830_170057.jpg

The MOJO was at its peak when I started this 1/87 scale import by ROCO. Seems like it went from toy to technical wonder over night.
The personal satisfaction needle was moved considerably upon completion.P1010873.JPGP1010863.JPG

Not built many this year, so not many to choose from.
Italeri 1/35 MTB 74 has to be my pick. A good kit that went together well.

Who knows, one day I might make the clamps that hold the torpedoes down on their racks!

It has to be this one as it is the only one I managed to complete this year. Definite aim next year to get more bench time.

it's got to be this one, The Bandai 1/44 scale 'Slave 1' from 'The Empire Strikes Back', I've never really done 'serious chipping' before so I was quite happy with how it turned out..

I've only completed two builds this year due to work and mental health issues. My fave was the 1/32 Hasegawa Fw190 A8. I like it because of the extra work i put into it doing scratch builds. Also because it's a Fw190 and that means it just has to be the best anyway :)

Some Great builds there guys.
Mine has to be the Tamiya Sdkfz234/2 Puma built for the recon GB, I haven't finished anything else due to a house move & life in general!DSC00297 (1024x680).jpg

Loads of filling and sanding and some of the decals went awol but the end result came out a lot better than expected :smiling4:

Lovely topic to scroll through, some very nice models :thumb2:

I had a lot of fun working on my Bf109's, but finishing the Spitfire gave me the most pleasure.
Learned a lot of new techniques this year and it all came together in this one.

Revell - Spitfire Mk.IIa - 1/32
Masterbox - Raf pilots, WWII era - 1/32
