Here at last is the finished Tu 160 'Blackjack'. This is the Zvezda 1/144 kit and is a lovely build and a good size even in this scale ,being about 15" across the wings. It is in the markings of bort no 03 named after 2 times Hero of the Soviet Union , Pavel Taran. Taran was a bomber pilot during the war completing over 300 missions. Ive done a couple of pics with aircraft of the same scale to give a bit of perspective , a BF 109 and a MiG 21 pf . Thanks for looking , comments criticisms ,observations welcome , cheers tony

Wicked good! And er, large!!!

Great job Tony.

Five more big red stars to the collection!

And even at 144 scale it's a really big bird!. Nice to see that I can still read in cyrillic.

Beautiful as always Tony. I can see why you like these Russian 'planes!

Awesome work Tony, despite all the wash problems it has come out nicely, top build.

Great job Tony. It's difficult photographing something this big, but I can still see the surface detail stand out nicely. Did you highlight the panel lines in any way ?

Another great build from you Tony 5 stars from me. Are you taking it to Newark ?

Cheers colin , yes i had a 'mare with the panel lines , took ages to get the right balance , not too much but for the scale enough to be seen , cheers tony

I would like to see one of these in 1/48 or am I just mad:)
probably ! it would scale out at about 3feet 8"inches long with a wingspan fully spread of a tad under 4 feet ! and not forgetting the small matter of where to put it and how much it would cost!!

This day and age though ,dont discount it completely , after all Revell made a 1/48 B1 , not to mention the 1/32 flying fortress recently released by HK models , so there are manufacturers crazy enough!!!!

Very smart build Tony. Wish I new a bit more about planes, in my ignorance it looks a bit concordy o_O. Great job though!

Wow!

Simply perfect Tony! The paint work, well...perfect again? Love the 'rockets' and excellent photos too!!

Cheers. Polux
