discussion Zvezda 1/48 LA-5

Hi all,

This is my first post after being a 'reader' of the site for a while. I've recently finished Zvezda's 1/48 LA-5, a really good, if slightly fiddly kit.

I had big issues with the decals, so resorted to spraying the red stars on the fuselage sides and undersurfaces. I persevered with the rest. The 'teeth' marking on the cowling was left off for fear of ruining things!

Very nice finish Matto! The paint finish is very crisply done and the sprayed star markings look perfect.

Unlike Tony, I'm not as much of a 'russian equipment' fan, but I recognize good work when I see it, and that is it.

Subtle wearing for the engine exhaust, crisp, clean lines, yep, looks good.

I have few more builds that I hope I can share with you soon. This is the first Russian and first Zvezda kit I've built. Quite pleased with how it turned out - shame about the decals and canopy!
