Scale Model Shop

Latest Acquisitions (2020)

Beware that that kit has serious dimensional issues. To fix it, as I recall, you need to saw it in half both across and lengthwise, then insert plugs, which is a great deal of work.
It was in the back of my head that the kit is a bit of a dog, but there isn't a great deal of choice. Monochrome do one but I think it's just a rebox of Trumpeters kit, same box art even.

I like the two engines and it looks like its carrying a very large drain pipe lol

For some reason Bob, the boxtop art makes it appear to be a damn good snow plow too. Just look at the vehicles in the background!!! On the other hand, we have 5 fingers..........

Due to the lack of model shows this year and with the funds I had saved up for them, I had this stupid idea to pretend I was at a show and bought some things,

I can now make all the rivets I need and don't have to chase them around the table anymore. I also received these today as I had mentioned ordering them in an earlier post. In a huge box came these,

IMG_1988.JPG
They are sitting on top of each other and you can see how huge the 229 is.

IMG_1983.JPG
Its box is 53 cm x 33 cm and 16 cm deep. I can see why Barry loves Zoukei Mura kits so much,

Here, all of the outside parts are molded in clear plastic so you can see all the innards if you wish not to paint it. Tons of parts with Incredible detail and so finely molded too. I will tackle this puppy next winter when I am retired. Oh, and this one too,

IMG_1990.JPG
This WNW kit offers so many options for the build, is finely molded and has many reference pics too. I didn't buy this as a collector's item or to resell it, but to build it in retirement too. I'm still dwelling on the SWS Heinkel 219 and it's only €179,95 at the moment............................

My order to Luciano Brach is also paid for and it should be here sometime next week. Nothing like bread and water for the rest of the summer I guess.................

Hi all

recalled Tim Marlow's recommendation of this flesh wash, so thought why not!

ATB

Andrew

Its a good read, and handy reference. As for the flesh wash, never heard of that before. Assume you paint basic flesh then a wash , for smaller scale figures

Pretty close Steve. Paint the basic flesh colour, add highlights on the nose, forehead, chin etc in a lighter flesh tone....then use the flesh wash. It will settle in the crevices so bringing out the shadow areas and make the figure come alive. It will work up to 1/35 figures, anything larger and it will start looking crude.

For a future project, quite impressed for the price, one large solid piece of plastic, found one small flaw but that can be weathered over.

she IS my favourite

Well these quickies are certainly addictive ( just ask Dave ) , just got this through the letter box . As quick build snap together kits go it’s quite complex , having two ( count em!) sprues and 24 parts! I always liked this tank as I remember building the old Airfix 1/76 kit as a kid and loving the unusual look of it , rather like a stack of saucepans ! Anyway I can’t wait to get on it and I’ll be asking the tankies on here stupid questions about which green to use :smiling5:;)31663125-1809-4FC0-8283-E4C99425B502.jpegEFAE8E88-B3FB-40BE-B306-96DF60FE1627.jpegB61F1C3A-D142-4E8F-B8AC-EE64906BB0CB.jpeg.

Although I have some of them already, these Bandai kits are a true gem and getting them at normal retail price is next to impossible here so that’s why the big lot, US postal tariffs are a killer too so the more in one box the better…

Yes Allen no more kits for the foreseeable future now save the four Hurricanes I ordered from Arma, any SW or RNLAF is still fair game, the upcoming Eduard Spitfire combo etc.etc.etc.:tongue-out2:

Thanks mate, with so many rebels in the other imperials went to the other side of Endor clearing a shelf a bit:tongue-out3:

Hope you have enough room in your place for the big owl, I have a Revell one still in its box because when finished were to put it:thinking:
And if it has a nice price tag, go for buddy otherwise you’ll be disappointed when it’s not there anymore:thumb2:

Ps. I don’t have to sell any of my kits yet, just turned 35 so I’m still a kid compared to the most here:nerd:
