Latest Acquisitions (2021)

I have a plan to do something with Styrofoam - hence the thread asking about it. The missus knew I fancied one of these but also knew that no way would I have spent the money myself :rolling:

I reckon she's a keeper :thumb2:
Happy Christmas all.
Jim
Have watched quite a lot of 'nightshift' video's on youtube lately...so very jealous of this!! The things that man does with foam

Now that’s a bit spooky Bob. The pharmaceutical plant I worked in for thirty five years was on MOD ground. It was a converted tank repair shed, originally built for repair of Centurion tanks. When the plant was first converted in the very early sixties, the stairs and handrails, along with the original chilled water cooler, were repurposed from HMS Vanguard when she was scrapped :surprised:
As an aside, the floor of the unit was about six foot thick concrete and when we altered things we had to bring in pneumatics Jack hammers:surprised::surprised::surprised:

Very spooky Tim! Would like to get some x battleship relics, did once see a wooden ornament made from teak from HMS Iron Duke, should have bought it

Yep, should have…..These would be a bit big Bob, really heavy as well. They had side plates that were made from one inch steel and were held together by bolts of around one and a quarter inches in diameter, three each side of a tread ;)

Good morning all

So hope you had a good day yesterday. My wife and I don't go mad at Christmas, so more bits and pieces for us.

Andrew

General gubbins.......mostly from the kids....

Modelling gubbins......
  • Thanks to our very own Steve Jones for advise on oil paints...my first exploration into this type of paint. I had been looking at Abteilung 502 oils but noticed Steve using these and so sent him a PM. I managed to find these at a very good price.....a third cheaper for almost twice as much as Abteilung. Thanks again Steve!!!!
  • The book is a facsimile reprint of a 1946 book and very nicely done too. 2nd Northants Yeomanry were the Armoured Recce Regiment for Junior's 11th Armoured Division, hence the subject matter.
  • The AB nozzle and needle are 0.3mm to fit my existing 0.4mm Sparmax, as a way of giving me something a bit finer without buying a whole new AB. My other AB is 0.2mm for really fine work, so now I have a nice range of needle sizes.

Bob....

We do a similar thing......just give each other lists of what we like and see what turns up.

Also, and I'm not trying to picky, but is your camera ok??? All of your recent posts have been a bit blurry....have you got a finger print on the lens??

Andrew

Picked up a copy of this old publication to assist with my F-16 build, some really good pics in it.

This is a bit scary for me - haven't built a floaty thing in the past forty years or so.

A Christmas present from my daughter so will be put at the front of the build queue rather than going into the stash...

That looks very cool indeed!
Those things must've been ENORMOUS.. even in that scale it still checks in at 400mm plus eh?!
Nice one,
Andy
