I'm struggling myself ,John.
I haven't really done anything much since I started this film work. I love it but it's long days and I'm just knackered in the evenings; and weekends there are so many duties that even if I get them cleared I just don't feel like doing anything. I'm spending my downtime planning new projects - all the while knowing I've got loads half finished.....
At least you ENJOY the gardening-I just mow the lawn and trim the infinite hedges and thank God it's done till the next time!
It's irritating but I know it will pass.
As the others say, just get out in that garden and enjoy!

Hi John, if you're not self centered and pompous "It...er...I Shall Return"...it took him nearly 3 years for the return so I think mojos are faster. I'm sure it will come back sooner than you think. Meanwhile gardening is another fine hobby...basically 1:1 scale diorama.

Cheers,
Richard

HI John sorry to hear you have lost your mojo but dont you worry i keep my eyes open an get you another one lol ps it will come back sir just try an be happy an enjoy life thats what matters in your lovely garden with mr blackbird an best wishes to christine too

I hear you John , having much the same problem myself , havent touched anything for weeks . For me its a combination of not having enough time when i get home from work and being stuck in the middle of putting hundreds of tiny stencils on the SU 22 . I cant make any progress on the soviet tank GB and the helicopter GB subject hasnt even been started , might have to even pull out of that one . All I can say is enjoy your garden and the fine weather , the modelling bug will come back sooner or later . Cheers tony

Getting out in the garden in this fine weather, doing somethig different for a while may re-invigorate your modeling mojo. All the vitamine 'd will do you good.

Well John, the many posts show one thing - You ain't alone :smiling:

I’m the other way around at the moment John, I just can’t get into the modelling room, due to family commitments.
But like the others have said, the kits will still be there, when the mojo returns.

John I know the feeling mate i try to spend as much time with my family
before I deploy and when I come back. By the time I do get a chance to go in my model room I just struggle, the amount of times that I have just gone in and sat down and then walk out five minutes later that's why my dragon wagon has taken me so long to build.

Guys thank you so much for the replies, will answer properly later . :thumb2:

Hi John,
I cannot tell exactly in this area (scale modeling) but I believe it affect all hobbies.
I remember coming out and back in to 3d modeling software, Blender.
I believe it is just like waves, come and go.
Hope you will get inspiration soon but do not push it, it will come back naturally. :smiling:

Don't worry, John. This is a hobby, as Tim stated, so no deadlines and no expectations from no one but from your own self.
Gardening and house maintenance are subtracting almost 99.9% from my bench-time, but that's what happens every springtime... and that's a fact (a thing you have to live with), not a problem (a thing you are able to solve) so I have to live with it, even when (and if) the call of the glue is loud and the Force flows fiercely through the sprues. :rolling::smiling4:
See you soon on the light side, Master John...:tongue-out3:

Andrea

John

Your garden is the beneficiary so just enjoy. For me its the golf course throughout our too short summer.

John....
I lost all urge to model in 2020, many other things going on, i did start 5 builds last year, but the start was all i did, this year my mojo has returned, along with inspirational club meetings again, a sort of normality has returned..... One is still not at peak performance but I'm getting there......
It will return, like McArthur lol

Same reason I been absent for a while, wanted to get on but really been lacking the motivation, had a day off work today so made myself go to the bench and spend a few hours, glad I did its bought back a bit of enthusiasm.

It happens to us all at sometime. Oddly I notice on the forum a tendency as summer arrives model mojo goes on holidays too.

:smiling3:, glad to know I'm not alone. I've had short spells before as we all do from reading the replies. At the moment , although interested in what every one else is doing I don't want to do my normal thing .So the idea of something none military in a peaceful setting does appeal, the problem as I've discussed with Dude 1 is there is not a lot of choice . I am looking more to doing the facades of shops and cafes than loads of cars , vans and people, though a few would liven up the scene. The place would be in 1/35 , France , around the 50s so there is a Tamiya Simica that would do for a vehicle. Tables and chairs can be made , posters on those typical French tube like objects found. It's just a few people suitably dressed are needed, so any ideas please say .

Although I have the " Dusty Bin " diorama to do and the Mossy groups build getting ideas for the French diorama will I'm sure bring back the Mo Jo. The only way is foreward .

Just one answer , Jakko gardening is another world :nerd::smiling3::smiling3: just as much fun .
Was going to thank everyone individually but the page would be so long .
John .

There are these John, possibly a little early, but it’s got officer Crabtree so you could amuse yourself with the accent….

Thanks Tim, suppose I could do a church entrance as well showing the Father at the door and the old guy waving to him from across the road ! The others are perfect. I thought there was a MiniArt group of people sitting at a
street cafe with a waiter ? think the dress would be ok , as could always move the date to suite.
