Scale Model Shop

That's a bit embarrassing old chap.

Hope it's still under guarantee ! Good job it's broken down off the US and not anywhere else.

Didn't get anywhere near the States John...... it didn't even get out of the "Channel" !!
(P.S. Says a LOT when a Royal Navy "Task Group" now comprises 1 Carrier,1 Frigate and a Tanker !!!)

Yep, they should’ve included a tug :tongue-out3:

SEE they dont build them like they use too an i cant under stand why the need for a seperate flyco from the bridge as the U/S carriers only need one island an not two dont make sence to me as that extra island could have had another couple of planes on the deck an this is one ship i would never build in a model an yes Tim YOU are right there should have been a tug there with it as well lol whats happened to our wonderfull ROYAL NAVY once the envey of the world

Heard about that last night.... Definitely wouldn't want to be the Captain at the moment.

Makes you wonder that with all the redundancy built into these things what has gone wrong?
Filled up at the wrong pump?

Well for once I can offer a good reply to that one. BOTH the towers on the two new carriers can control the ship and manage the air traffic. So if one was destroyed the other would be able to take on both functions. Try that on a carrier with one central control structure.

A comforting thought: those mishaps can hit only those who HAVE an aircraft carrier... :relieved: which is not as normal as owning a car (and I know something about cars with propulsion troubles ;)) .
If I'm not wrong, the same happened to the French CVN De Gaulle some years ago :face-with-head-bandage: (it was her maiden trip if my memory doesn't fail me) and I still remember an Italian Navy Amphibious Assault ship stuck off the Lebanon shores with serious engine troubles in the early '80s.:anguished:
:poop: happens when you move big things around.

At least you have a ship that's visible. We've got 6 Stealth ships being built and no one has seen the other 5 and the first is still under construction after 6 years which was recently unveiled with a wooden mock-up antenna mount...I guess that's composite stealth material.

Cheers,
Richard

B.S. flag on that one Ian..........my bro was a helmsman on the Midway........old as the hills........ship had secondary Con even back then. Just cause you can't see it doesn't mean it's not there. ;)

WHAT about if they both get knocked out then Ian lol

That's why it was located below deck on the Midway.......if you can't see it, you can't shoot it. :nerd:

YES AN I SHOULD HAVE THOUGHT OF THAT well done Rick as you are right all ships have it to my knowalgele

Of course, if they’d designed this sort of redundancy into the drive train we wouldn’t be having a discussion……’cos she wouldn’t have broken down :tongue-out3:

Isn't that the whole point? :smiling2:
Pete
They weren't actually built as stealth ships...we're just calling them that since we haven't seen them for 6 years after being fully paid up. I could post up some of the funny images surrounding this fiasco probably in the jokes section.

Cheers,
Richard
