Latest Acquisitions (2023)

Here's my modest haul from the De Havilland Museum Show

The figure set on the left is the Italeri Elco PT Boat Crew , for £3 - BARGAIN!
I've decide to dump the Vallejo primer and try the AK as it's so well-loved on this forum.
And the Red Knight was a fiver and will be great for my grandson who's 10 and just getting into model kits.
MUCH more restrained than my purchase Neil

When you don't have super human scratch skills like the Scotties of this world, this place might come in handy for some of us.

Unsurprisingly the shackles weren't exactly cheap but the cable is pocket change. Available in different sizes and a quality 7x7 stainless twist. Hardly worth twisting your own.

Logged that away for future reference ;)

Except that one made from copper wire will stay in the shape you bend it in, whereas stainless steel has a small problem with that.

Hi all

So firstly apologies for not having had a chance to comment on many of the fine builds I can see going on but I don't have the time to give them what they deserve....yet!

The good news though is that the studies are nearly over. The online test has to be sat within the next week - 25 tricky multiple choice questions in an hour. The assignment has to be in by 5th June but I have already managed to finish that, subject a final run through (or two)....

Anyway....enough waffle.....so the below book was recommended by James Holland on his podcast.....I went 2nd hand as usual.....ex-libary book but in good nick and only £4 delivered.

As for the below kits, a friend of friend had dabbled in the hobby but it wasn't their thing and so they had a clear out and gave everything away to a good modelling home....in other words yours truly....for free. I reckon they're worth about £90!

In addition to the kits there were some paints, decals and other modelling supplies - although a few bits weren't worth keeping. All in all just over £100 worth of stuff!

Stay safe all. I will be back soon properly.....whether you like it or not! ;) :smiling5:

ATB.

What book Andrew?

Took the words out of my mouth :) Looks like he forgot to include a photo of it?

That M1A1 kit builds up very nicely. Not the most accurate one you’ll find, but it’s Tamiya so you know it will go together well.

Gotta love a Jaguar, still looks both sexy and mean after all these years

Photo now taken and added back into the post!

The kit that I actually bought that started this little avalanche can actually be seen in the background of the artwork for this one. lol.

And one I have been looking at to often now.
