Looking very good indeed John. Engine bay work is superb. Great combination of colour and texture. 570 is quite correct as well. I attended a talk given by a Normandy veteran Cromwell commander and his description is exactly what the guy described the engine bay to be like. A boat bilge…..

Yep, improving as we go John. The flare was very short lived, thank god, but I have a consultation with the RA pharmacologist this afternoon so might be looking at another meds tweak……then again, they might be looking at the close proximity of starting biologics and getting the embolism. Good job I find this stuff interesting, it could get really boring really quickly……
As to the weathering, I just throw stuff around until I think it looks right, taking the occasional break to let it dry properly and give me time to get used to it :tongue-out3:

Part 2 of the box sections. Sorry no plastic

First the inner box , made to fit the opening in the frame. It just needs to be slightly wider than the card front.

2022.jpg
Just trial to make sure it all fits, will only be glued together after all on the internals have been worked on, ie the brick wall , the doors and timber work of the barn.

2022_2.jpg
Front on , just to give a idea of how it will look - minus the outer frame.

2022_6.jpg
Now face down onto the glass and front . You can see the gap at the bottom right where the electrics, battery and switches will be. The outer case fits to the outer edge of the frame .

2022_7.jpg
Black board is only because the supplier only had that to make up the 9 white boards he had for an order of 10. It's on the bottom anyway so shan't be seen .
The full back has been cut out, along with a cut out for a opening flap to access the bottom .

Hope fully tomorrow I can start the marking of the Kappa line sheet for the brick work and timber.

Thanks for looking in, comments welcome as usual .

John.

Interesting John. Looking forward to seeing how you put this together.

All the best.

Hi Andrew, thanks for looking in . Quite complex at times as you are building most of the internals before it all fits together , so some tight measurements needed.

Today saw the fixing of the outer box to the frame. Using 3M double sided 5mm wide tape after much measuring and marking out with scrap bits of modelling tape.
Removing the face cover of the double sided tape is fun, the grip is so good I have to use the scalpel blade to hold the sticky section down and a pair if fine tweezers to removes the surface cover.
Fitting the box itself is a one chance affair, go wrong at this point and its back to the drawing board.

All stuck down now the removal

Looking ok.
Decided to add a glue line inside the frame / box just to make sure.

Then to make doubly sure some weights on top ! Can't take and risks can you ;)

Then I had a slight tidy up , panic not fellow members of the UTC , only the bench area. Seeing this Christine called for Matron !

Thanks for looking in.
John.
