I have been a figure modeller for nearly fifty years and have recently bought a couple of vehicle kits for a change of scene. Now I'm hooked.

Welcome to the forum Bill!

And more importantly welcome to the dark side of vehicles..... Before you know it you'll be buying a plane or two.... And then.... Heavens forbid.....a ship!!! ;)

In all seriousness welcome aboard and would love to see some of your work.

Bill, welcome to the forum. You have found a great site with a great bunch of modellers with a very varied interest.

Welcome from me as well Bill. I’m a moonraker as well, though now residing just over the border in Somerset……
I know you say you are currently doing vehicles, but there are plenty of figure chaps on here buddy, so show some if you like…..I for one would like to see them :thumb2:

Bill,
welcome to the forum - it does you good to change genres! It's satisfying to see how methods carry across, and even better, to learn new ones. In my time as a modeller, I've had a go at everything - apart from fantasy, and just one Sci-Fi model ( built for a mates' kid ). I reckon I'd get pretty bored doing the same sort of subject all the time.
What sort of vehicles are you beginning to get hooked on?
Dave

Welcome Bill- may I suggest AFVs are definitely the way to go! Lots of wheels, lots of weathering, and lots of track links! They're a whole new world - and an essay in patience to boot!
Steve

. ... And it's a warm welcome from me too :)
I look forward to seeing you around the parish,
Andy

Welcome, welcome, welcome to the ..... .... ..... .... Hope to see your work.

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome.

I bought the Takom FV432 for nostalgic reasons as I drove and commanded one in the 70's when I was a REME plant mechanic attached to 23 Engineer Regt in BAOR. When I opened the box and saw what I had let myself in for I bought the Italeri Land Rover to practice on but I think I might need a few more under my belt before I do the 432.

First kit I ever did was an Airfix Dakota ,aged nine, far too many years ago.

As I have been asked, here is one of my figures.

That is superb Bill! Is it one of Ray Lamb's masterpieces? Was 23 in Hohne?
