Hi all
I have just joined this forum and thought my latest model may be of interest. The Revell kit is quite old - mid 1970s. I wanted to show it as an abandoned, derelict quietly rusting away. It is almost finished, just a few details to add. Ropes, tyre fenders etc. Feedback is most welcome.

Hi Jim, I never replied to this thread on the other place I think but I did follow it and I must say, I think this definitely is becoming your best work to date. The scene really has something to it and I really love the weathering. Comes together rather nicely ey!

Cheers

Jim
The larger photos on this site really do show off your work even better than before. Is that a crab climbing up the hull?:smiling3:

Thank you so much for your kind comments. I want to get this finished - not a lot to do now - so I can start a new build on my new forum. I think many of the ex MilMod guys will want to get a nice new start.
Jim

Hi Jim,
Great of you to bring the tug here, looking forward to the final result with the last details.:thumb2:
Agree with you on making a fresh start here, just have to finish my current project too and then its new forum new project.

I'm liking that...! There is one of those in my stash - I was considering doing it 'waterline' against a quay...

Hi Jim top job on the tug and the wall is a work of art, very well done :thumb2:.
Does that mean I got to start mine soon :smiling2:.
Pete.

Hi Jim,
That tug looks the business, finishing the Sea King now, and have a new project to start, so looking forward to a fresh start.
Cheers

That's really nice. I love to see a bit of weathering and an old boat is an ideal subject for a bit of rust etc.

Thanks guys
We are now even closer to the end. We have a handrail by the steps and a seagull on the roof! :smiling2:

Spectacular finish Jim. The final touch with the seagull will set it off.

Cheers,
Richard

Tracked you down !
Boy that's smart Jim , you can nearly smell the sea air and hear the gulls.
You must be pleased with this . Shows what can be achieved with skill .
John .

You know your stuff sir, you've been observing before you got to the project itself.

A very nice model and a good study in dereliction.

That old Revell Tug Kit has actually been around since the 1950's.
tI was originally issued with the name 'Long Beach'
This model just shows what can be done with quite an elderly kit and a bit of imagination.

Wasn't on here when you did this Jim. That is looking very good indeed.

Well done.

Well seeing this come up again is a real blast from the past. I certainly appreciate the kind comments from Noel, Paul and Andrew. Having looked through the thread I notice many names of people who no longer post here which is a shame.
