We can only guess why it ended up so far back. Probably because the cannons exit further forward.
I think the mouth and eyes make it look like a charachter from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plane... is a 2013 American,of Pixar's Cars franchise.
Different it is, an up to date version with a lot more detail would be nice. But I don't think it's something we're going to see any time soon.

Absolutely brilliant result colin, a silk purse from an old sows ear . The extra detailing on the seats really makes a difference , as its quite a visible cockpit with that big canopy

Cheers Tony, it wasn't a bad old kit for £25, but not the £60 / £70 some are trying to get for it. The seats, yes as we can see, things are very much on show with that huge side by side canopy. It's like half a giant goldfish bowl.

It’s a slightly ungainly looking aircraft. The Vixen that followed, has a much more, refined look about it.
