Hi everyone,

Like many of the ex.MM guys I too have a running project.

Started as my last entry in the now defunct RAF100GB, she wasn’t destined to finish in time anyway so it’s ok to restart over here, the tread that is not the whole build…:tongue-out3:

Right, started in the usual manner office and bang seat first.

Used Eduard FE643 on her, although designed for the Kitty hawk kit with some modification the bits will fit:

Think this one is a re-pop from the old Airfix kit and the age shows with lots of filling and sanding required:

Since the area around the bang seat is pretty busy, I added some 0.75mm & 1mm styrene rod for tubes and wire bundles with some thin copper wire for the smaller cables:

Some more add-ons, AM-48-057 pitot tube and AOA probe on the side.

The pitot’s (I think) from the kit were thinned and the pointy bit was replaced with Albion 0.3mm brass tube:

With a general lack of detail in the wheel wells and landing gears, I added some bits to let her look a bit more like a Jaguar.

The white parts are Evergreen sheet (0.25mm), rod (0.75 & 0.5mm)and strip (0.25x05mm)with copper wire in between:

Also modified the gun-vents, by installing Albion 1x0.8mm brass tube instead of the shallow holes the kit provides:

Just a little update in the paint process, after a coat of Vallejo Grey primer VJ 71.057 Black was used for a rough pre-shade and leading edges:

When dry this was followed by a coat of VJ 71.065 Steel for the metallic area of the tail and a mix of 1 part Gunze H66 Sandy brown with 2 parts H34 Cream Yellow for the wheel wells:

Think it will look ok when all weathered up.:smiling4:
Hope it dies quickly so I can mask it all off and move on to the first camo colour.

Hey Fernando,

The Jaguar is one of the few jets I like...one reason is that it looks like an eagle with talons outstretched when landing. Yup I too think it's a re-pop of the old Airfix kit. It shows on your second pix where the panel lines don't line up at the joint. But you've done a great job on the added details. My!...the piping on the undercarriage is amazing. The flare chute dispensers too. I'm going to try to win a Kittyhawk Jaguar in our next GB if that's in the prize list or swop with my 1/32 Skyraider.

Great work fernando , loving the extra details. Richards right about it being a rebox of an airfix kit but i think maybe the airfix itself was a repop of the heller kit. Ive done this kit and found some of the detail to be a bit soft too , i got round the lack of internal detail by putting the pilot in and keeping the canopy closed! It still makes a great looking model though, looking forward to seeing the paint go on, cheers tony

Richard, thank you very much for the kind words sir:thumb2:. Totally agree on the coolness of the Jag the main landing gear just gives it that great look. If you manage to get the Kittyhawk Jaguar the Eduard set is a great addition for her.

Tony, many thanks sir:thumb2:, depending on the plane I keep the canopy open or not, I plan to add this one to the Phantom and Typhoon I already made for the MM’s RAF GB.
Since those two have their canopy’s open and a bit more attention to the details it seems prudent to continue the same path.:hugging-face:

Which ones have you built and in the stash?

Managed to get the main colours on this week, Gunze H330 Dark green and H331 Dark sea-grey.
As some of you know I’m a big fan of the white-tack masking method especially for these wrap-around camo schemes, took a couple of evenings to get this far:

Still have to find my way with the Gunze paints so the AB mix was a bit too thick and obliterated the pre-shade, oh well no problem it’s just a step in the learning process.
All the masking removed and here we stand now, just a dozen or so spots to tidy up:thinking::

Since it landed on the field of the school I was working at and we opened the gates for the paramedics to easily return to the chopper, they and the police officer in charge of security didn’t mind us taking pics….:tongue-out3:

Camo looks good. Keeping a preshade is hard. I have tried quite a few times and never got it right.
