Tonys Italeri 1/48 Spitfire mk XVI

Time for the green to go on . I know the early war spits and hurricanes were painted with rubber mat templates so had a hard edge on the camo but the later war ones look to have been sprayed freehand and have a soft edge -so blu tack at the ready .
The photo I found reinforces this , also illustrating what was touched on in another thread about the regularity of the camo pattern . This pic shows four different spits of the same mark and squadron and all the patterns are slightly different so dont worry about matching up exactly with the kit schematics . I mentioned this but it has probably come up elsewhere, but that photo really shows the differences, you can clearly see the green on the tail is lower down on the second aircraft than the first. As they say, a picture paints a thousand words and all that.

It’s looking good. Always good to get the camo on, the light at the end of the tunnel.
