RIP Ron, one of the best blokes I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet, and call a friend, his brush painting was second to none. He and his experience, whit, diorama building and aircraft chucking will be very missed.

Such very, very sad news. My thoughts are with his family and friends. He was such a great modeller who produced wonderful dios but never took himself too seriously. His skills and sense of humour will be greatly missed.

I had many a laugh about wood butchering with Ron. Will miss the dios and that bunch of native builders he used. I knew of his battle with cancer, but like Yak face said nothing.

I see there has been a few mentions of a tribute build for Ron which is only right and fitting.

We have a few group builds on the cards at the moment so I am happy for the U.S. gb that I proposed to be dropped to make room for a tribute build to take its place if that’s ok with everyone.

Always sad to know a fellow diorama builder has passed. Gonna miss his native communication with his band of workers...were they Jamaicans or South Africans? Oh and his plane chucking as well.

My personal favourite was his build of 'The Clacker'. Unfortunately we can't give Ron all the credit for that - he wouldn't have been able to finish it without the help of Idu and his lads!
