Well, actually I don't know what it was. We often get the sight and sound of an old Jet Provost flying around hereabouts and I thought that's what it was today. However, by the time it came into view it as much louder and I didn't get much of a look.

He turned around out of sight but still within earshot and as he came back I could see that the fuselage was much sleeker and with a more pointed nose than the aforementioned plane plus it had a high tailplane. Wings were straight like the Provost but slimmer and perhaps a bit longer.

Any ideas from you aero experts??

Nick

Nick far from being an expert we live in South Lincs and have the Cambridge University Air squadron at Wittering. The planes they fly used to sound like a Wasp on speed.

Actually to be honest one or two did not get here. Weather low cloud. So there was a hour where nothing happened.
Normally the list is even larger.

But the Typhoon wow swooped stooped twisted rolled & rolled quite an amazing aircraft.

Last year was cancelled due to covid. Great to see it back again.

Does not happen now. But time past the Royal Square in Jersey was used to collect money. Known as the mile of pennies. Every year that was excceeded & this was put to those in the RAF whose had come on hard times.

The Event is Guernsey Morning Jersey Afternoon.

Pilots etc Jersey Restaurants Evening. & Friday night not a trick missed restaurants repeated.

Ha ha.

Just add Red Arrows brilliant as usual.

At the Airport they entertained a young boy who had been on a charity thing. Real nice.

The sat with him for photos on the wing of an arrow. Just like all of that. Just all superb.
The fun of life.

Well not yesterday, about 4 minutes ago,. I'm sat there with a Jet Provost in my left hand, a sanding stick in the right, and this noise grew and grew. Then the BBMF Lancaster made a hard right turn right in front of my window. That perked me up a bit.

Bomb load Colin ?

A bit of a cheat but I don't think there's really much call for a "What Sailed Past Your House (yesterday) " thread.

Seajacks Leviathon, platform maintenance vessel, flipping huge, Cornwall.

6 flys, one bluebottle, 9 sparrows (balcony landing for grub), 1 Magpie & a fly past by of approx 12 seagulls of the same vintage type..
2 pidgeons have yet to re-enter obviously found better food than we offer.

Yesterday, during the high winds (60mph gusts seemed like 120mph), from the construction site opposite we had 2 cardboard boxes in full flight pass the window.

On the runway, we had two rabbits feeding on the green, 2 dogs & 5 children eating Jersey Ice cream cones.

There will be a further bulletin issued tomorrow
