What flew over your house (yesterday)

Pity I got it from an RSPB bird guide. If I hadn’t, I could have followed your tip Jakko ;)

Night flying at RAF Withering so we are blessed with massive transport planes flying over Stamford .Can't see them other than flashing lights and the noise ! Still good to know they are just training .
Often have those F15s so high you can hardly see them but the cracking sound they make when they go onto a full power climb is fantastic .
Living here in South Linc's we are lucky, often in the summer we are treated to the sight and sound of various planes from the BBMF

What did you say Tim... acid pills three a day? :smiling6:

Hawk family it is, thanks.

Cheers,
Richard

A Boeing V-22 Ospray to far away for a picture plus it had a light grey cloud background so a bit hard to get a decent pic so I hope it comes back.

When the wind is right we have a lot of C17s into Wright-Pat & when very bad weather is down south we get fighters of all types flying in. Latest was a pair of DC3s in D-Day markings doing air drops of parachutists at the base. Never have camera at the ready or think of phone as camera. Must remedy that.

Oh dear its Airforce Day again. The usual circulars were sent telling everyone to calm down with the extra flights of military aircraft flying overhead in the next couple of days. I'd prefer if they gave ear muffs. I'm just next door to the base.
This morning it was like the early mornings of D-Day with droves of planes revving up and taking off. Didn't bother snapping photos as they would be the usual transports, helis and fighters...same old stuff. Hhmmf...could have snapped a pic of the new SU's though. Not my cup of tea...give me vintage planes anytime.

Cheers,
Richard

Sorry no pictures, just a story….
Just came back from the Bath and West agricultural show. No flypasts were arranged, not great for the animals I would think. Still had a rare treat though. I heard a merlin engine (so distinctive you can’t miss it) so looking around I saw the BoB memorial flight Lancaster flanked by a spitfire going by in the middle distance…..for those few that might not know, that’s the same ones that flew down the mall yesterday. Don’t know where they were going but they were headed in the Yeovilton direction. The funny thing is that I was fairly bouncing up and down with excitement, and I don’t think anyone else even saw them…..

Ok, not over my house and not actually flying, but it was something of a surprise to come across this rather faded F104 parked in a yard along some obscure moutain backroad in the Italian Lakes region a couple of weeks ago. Pics courtesy of the Lady on the back.....

I'll hopefully get back to some model making before too long.

Well not yesterday but right now. G-TFSI 'growled' over my house.

Probably where it crash landed after it’s last flight Nick ;)

Airshow at the base here yesterday. Had a lazy low level overflight of 4 Kates w/torps escorted by 4 Zeros. Part of their 'Tora, Tora, Tora' exibition. Alas no camera due to laying sidewalk at the time. Heard Blue Angels, but too fast to catch a glimpse.

Hmm - All I regularly see is the local Air Ambulance - there's a emergency pick up site at the back of the local Tesco, about 400m down the valley to me. Can be quite noisy - but I don't think anyone complains! ( At least I hope not )

And my house at about 1542. I had just finished all the gardening, stretched out in the sun nodding off, then the noise grew.

If you guys have read the news...the first time Nancy Pelosi flew out of Subang next door I didn't know but the second time on her return flight from Taiwan I heard the unusual large jet engines, unfortunately it was at night so couldn't tell what she flew in.
Unusual because we have turbo prop planes flying everyday out of the airport including the Airbus transports and Hercs.

Cheers,
Richard

Any live on the Kent coast? Whilst working from home today there was a thunderous roar. Ran out into the garden to see half a dozen I think it was F15 Eagles fly over pretty low! We have the spitfires all the time but this was quite a awesome sight today, what a treat
