Boy oh boy i feel your pain Tony makes my Pegasus DH2 kit look like a Tamiya But i know you will make a super kit from this In a twisted way i think i would like to have a go at this one
I'm actually quite enjoying it Ian ! Its such an unusual subject that i kind of dont mind the extra work . If you fancy a go at something like this theres quite a few different ones by Amodel ,and you can pick them up for well under a tenner on e-bay. I nearly opted for a couple of civilian versions, one just normal and the other a crop spraying one , before choosing the soviet navy one. Just type Kamov ka 15 in the E-bay search bar and have a gander , cheers tony

Hi all , its been a long time since I got anything much done in the shed nut i'm back into it now . The little Kamov is coming together nicely , despite having to replace most of the tiny fiddly bits due to the poor moulding (you can forgive this ,its a short run kit and you cant expect Tamiya moulding can you!!). Thankfully all these parts that have had to be replaced are various thicknesses and lengths of rod shape ,so it wasnt too bad- the bits that needed a bit more sourcing were the exhausts and breather pipe , but some copper and brass tube sorted these nicely. The mega complicated co-axial rotor is very fragile and fiddly , but now looks the part thanks to some additions and replacements (and no thanks to the ropey instruction diagram !! thank god I found a brilliant walkaround with loads of detail shots ) The body has had the paint applied and now waits for the wheels, decals and some more tiny aerials and things , hopefully I can finish it before the deadline , ive got just under 2 weeks! ,heres the pics , cheers tony

Thought you had won the lottery and left us lol, Nice progress mate.

Looks like you have done all the tricky bits. So in summary then, the only original parts are the fuselage halves? :) I have really enjoyed these helicopter builds and loved doing my Huey.

Those old rat eyes came in handy for this one Tony, great work, bet the tweezers were busy. Cheers Derek

Great looking build Tony ,thats quite a complicated rotor system to tackle!

I don't think I would have the patience for all the work you have put in.

must admit it's looking good though!

Gregg

An extreme bit of contra rotating. Looking good.

Very nice Tony. Lot of patince & skill in the construction of the rotors. A very nice job, The detail and all at 1/72. Thought the rotor blade set up on the Wessex was detailed at 1/48 this beats it.

Well it might be last minute as usual but heres the finished article. This was quite an enjoyable build in spite of the fact it definitely wasnt a shake n bake !!! The tiny dimensions of this little hen didnt make it any easier , but at least i havent got any troublr fitting it on the shelf !! heres a few pics , i'll put the finished ones in a Completed thread , cheers tony
