Hello my name is Adam and I am addicted to buying model kits.

Does anyone else have this issue? I am currently building a 1/12 Renault f1 car with oh let’s say 10 kits in my stash already to build. An aircraft carrier and German submarine kit turned up last week!!!

I really do need to stay off the internet before my better half leaves me !!

As Alan has already said, that's not a lot, I did manage to thin my stash down to about 20 kits.............but I heard once if you ever complete your stash you die, so Im going to live forever.......

10 kits in the stash!
Amateur.

The best way, really, is to think to yourself: Do I really think I’m going to build this in the foreseeable future? If not, then leave it where it is, unless you know it’s something you’ll probably never see again but would like to build eventually.

Putting this into practice is harder, though … But still: self-discipline is the key if you want to keep you stash realistic :)

Im knocking on for about 50 and im way behind some of the guys here.

I've probably got about 8 in the stash box since joining this forum in January so this forum has a lot to answer for. I've picked up a few when in towns with model shops, a few cheap purchases on Ebay and also have sometimes added one to the basket when paintings online.

I've decided now I'm not building any until I've reduced my stash, buy I've said that before.

Adam, this is a touchy subject. A couple of years ago members, well those who dared anyway, put up pictures of their stash. Now it was two years ago so many will have grown since then.
Look HERE and be prepared to be shocked :rolling:

I'd love to give you proper advice Adam....
... Unfortunately I went down the dark stash root several years ago.. and there's no return I'm afraid!! ;)

Don’t sweat it Adam…..it’s cheaper than golf…..and a lot more fun LOL…..

A lot of what's in my stash are things that come in batches. Miss out when they come out, you might have to wait years before they come around again.
Others because I am weak and the box was pretty.

I'm well behind many on here but have 20 kits just for one themed collection I've started and probably have 30 or so on top of that!

I'm doing well......down to about 150 in the stash.....can remember when it was over twice that.....only bought 10 this year and built half of them

trick is to only buy it if you really want it.....takes some will power lol.

I haven't counted them for a long time, doesn't bother me how many I have. The time to start worrying is when if you have a choice of a kit, or food, you choose the kit!

A big welcome from Germany Adam!!! A stash with 10 kits??? This crazy old git has about 30X that many and counting. The more I sell, the even more I buy...If I live to be 127, I might get half of them finished!!! You got nothing to worry about...........Yet.........

Prost

Been working my stash since 89 and at a fever pitch since semi-retiring in 01. I'm down to one kit untouched & maybe ten incomplete, but mostly I build them when I get them, or rebuild them if I'm displeased w/them. I think I've rebuilt my sWS' 3 or 4 times.

Dear doctor, by the way the couch is nice!!

I have S an S stash, StuG and ships!

About 30 plus StuG Inc 1, 1/16 and a load of 1/350 ships plus 1/200 arizona

I have sold all the other 1/16 armour and apart from 2 all other non StuG stuff.

Just got to get some mojo, looked on ebay but bugger all

I've had to clear some of my stash to make room for some recent 'big box' purchases - 1/18 Huey, Harrier and Me262 - so down to a measly 400 kits left!

Oh dear, I've got them stacked against the walls downstairs, upstairs in three rooms and still lagging behind some of the guys here. There's a local guy here that has bought an extra apartment to stash his kits since the baby arrived or his SWMBO will throw him out. :smiling6: So I think you're safe for now.

Cheers,
Richard
