Latest Acquisitions (2020)

Really nice looking booth Bob. You’ll have to let us know how it compares with the old one when in use....

Hi all

So today I hit half a century.

The plan had been to take the family skiing at Christmas but COVID has put an end to that, so will have to wait for another year....

Nonetheless the day was brightened by a few arrivals.....

Some haul of things there, brownie looks especially good.

I'd be positive, COVID has probably saved you a broken wrist or ankle

Hi all

So the first item below arrived today for my North Africa vignette. I was looking for some mesh for the the exhaust when I stumbled across this - my first major set of PE.

And after recommendations and advice from Laurie (thanks very much Laurie), I also invested this heat gun and some low flux solder - I hedged my bets never having used it before and got both paste and liquid.

Could there be fire then Andrew ?
Oh and Happy Birthday .

Modelling mojo yet to return, so when I saw this was being re-published, I put in an order. After a quick flick through, I'm fairly sure it will do the job!!
It's a great book Jack, hard to tell which was the model of the real one at times .

Now going for silly prices so I had to wait for a long time for one to come up at sensible price IMG_20201205_123350.jpg

Rather boring compared to Peter's find but still exciting to those nerds among us who love foam board !

2020_2_2a.jpg

4 sheets of 5 mm standard board, which to those that don't use it is a devil to remove the paper, so I use this as a backing to the Kappaline which is easy peel.
and 1 sheet of blue foam to try for detailing like Paul is using on his build.

John.

A couple of new colours and some top ups from John

After scrimping and using whatever I could find, I worked out that this would cost maybe less than a quid per model, so splashed out.

And my next build (I'm not lucky enough to have a stash yet, so buy as I go). I enjoyed the last Gecko kit I did, apart from the PE, and there's a standing/leaning figure included, so might make a little scene out of it.

Well maybe not as exciting as Peter, Dude 2 or Scratchy, but I grabbed this off evilbay for half the normal price, delivered. Another beauty from Italy's Luciano Brach,

Very finely cast with indy tracks and alu barrel. It's tiny, real tiny, but oh so sweet!!!...............

Prost
