I'd like to know how Dr. Leary is doing outside along with all those animals pouring on your rooftop. I guess gerbils will look peculiar even to his psychedelic mind.:upside:
Great paint job... only the brave!
You don't want to know Andrea! It was just one of those rainy nights...Timothy and I were friends long ago, not personally though. Thanks Sir, but I'm not brave. It had to be done one way or another...
Oh Allen - so much good work going on and so many problems solved. You really are doing this proud.
Thank you Jim! I really think I am making progress, finally, on her. Please see below my friend...
Dude, some seriously good painting there. And we all have brain farts I have at least 10 a day.
Thanks Bro! I am no way proficient at the AB yet, but getting there so the hairy was the only way. If you have 10, then I must have at least 20 brain farts a day Paul!!!...
Great work, and thanks for the Iron Butterfly reference. Guess what I've been listening to for the last 17 minutes.
Pete
Well Pete, if you were playing it backwards, then it would have been only 10 minutes long @ 45RPM. I guess you were doing it wrong
Buddy!!! Thanks for dropping in...
Yup Paul, I think he was playing it at 33RPM, forwards...Backwards, it's Adiv-Ad-Addag-A-Ni and sounds better and shorter too!!!...
Sunday and Monday were spent with hairy stick in hand. Lotsa water changes using the 5 colors for the psychedelic fusillier work. In the end, and before going bonkers, I got the job done,

It was definitely a learning experience!!! The biggest prob was trying to work out where each color went and to try and keep them evenly spaced apart. I wasn't too worried about some brush marks or paint density (Thanks Ron) on them. There are a couple of places that will be painted gray and some masking, so they were left alone.
Today, I said the hell with it and since the sun was shining, it was time to fire up the Hissy stick. The wind was blowing, but lucky for me, in the right direction for a change. I mixed up a batch of Tamiya with 10% XF-55 deck tan, 20% X-22 clear and 70% IPA in the syringe and shook the daylights out of it. I tried it out at about 10PSI, but it wouldn't spray. I bumped it up to 15PSI and we were in business. I tested it on my plastic test sheet and it looked good. Off we went, as it was
Do It or Ruin It!!! The results,

I didn't mask the white as I kept the spray under control and can touch up the edges later. I also didn't get the splatter effect I wanted, but I am happy with results. There is a slight sheen to the mix so I can apply the decals easier. When done with them, a coat of Vallejo Matt will seal it all and weathering will tone down the psychedelia even more...Still feeling lucky, I mixed up a batch of Vallejo Matt and shot another coat on the wings. Honestly, I feel pretty damn good that the Hissy work went great, without a hitch!!!...
Thank you all for the great comments on this. Much appreciated and keeps me going through the bad times at the table. I may not be on here as much due to a prob with the laptop throwing stopcode blue screens at me. My son should be able to fix it as he's a techie. If all else fails, I still have my iPad.......Have a good Over-the-Hump Day!!!
Prost
Allen
