Scale Model Shop

Brian's Caldercraft 1/72 HMS Victory

I do not have the patience to even attempt something that big or intricate, just amazing. My experience with fleabay has never been great, so I may be biased, but I would definitely look at other ways to sell first.

I was looking back on some of the other photos, and I like that you had Star Wars Millennium Falcon and Tie Fighter models in the background with Victory - nice juxtaposition!

It's astonishing to think they built her in 6 years with no modern tools.

Congratulations Brian. A real beauty of a model and an inspiration for your skill and perseverance. I hope you manage to sell it for its true value.

Thanks John tbh it looks great where it is but will be a dust magnet :(

Just managed to get her in a local auction 6th july fingers crossed
BRI not tellin you what to do but please put on a resevre price dont let it go for peanuts as one of my former freinds built a bueatifull HMS VANGAURD BATTLESHIP in 1/96 scale about 7 ft long an fully r/c an a lot worked on it an even a tape deck vioce systmem shouting out orders an when he died his wife put his ship in a auction an it went for peanuts as me an my mate were at the auction to see what the model sold for an we were discusted it was worth far more than what it sold for esp on your vic all the hard work an loads of hrs you spent on it

100% agree with Chris here. If you put it in an auction with no reserve it has to be sold even if the only bid is one pound. For me, the minimum should be the cost of the original kit.

That is a superb model. A huge amount of money, time, skill and patience went into it. I would certainly try an auction house and a specialist magazine, as has been suggested, before putting it on eBay. A buyer collects listing will limit the bidding but something like this cannot be safely sent by courier.

WELL Tim not tryin to tell bri what to do again but i think he would be better off adverting it in model boats magazine as there you get the collerters as i dint sell none of my big warships for under a grand an my nimtiz went for a lot more but to a collector but as you say even if it only get a quid it will still be sold an thats not on in my book
