That along with the B.S.A. 500 was when we produced great bikes here in the UK. Hope you blog the build John.My wife has bought me this !
She has put her foot down with a firm hand and told me to make the best of it as at my age this is as close a I am going to get to a real one. No sense of fun some people. There is nowhere I could put it to full use on the island anyway, so I guess this is better than nothing. I have built this before but that was in the original ProTar boxing. That puts it about 50 years ago. Where does time go?
John.

Nice haul Andy!In preparation for the up and coming Japanese Aircraft GB I thought I'd get some Ref material and paints together.
Also,as the Raiden I'm going to do looks a fairly basic kit,I decided to get something a little more complex as well.
This little bundle was completed today with the arrival of the "Nick"...
So then, I'm all tooled up :smiling3:
Thanks Andrew,Nice haul Andy!
I have no idea what you mean.....about to PMThanks Andrew,
Must admit I'm rather pleased,......there are a series of those books,(I'm seriously thinking of getting the US Carrier based Aircraft one for Karl's Pacific GB), they're full of good schemes and info, also they're VERY reasonably priced. :smiling3:
...... Mind you, we're not finished with purchases for the GB yet are we?!![]()

....a PROPER 1/48 convert now eh Andrew?!!!So one for our very own Comrade @John Race, although it's probably not the right shade of green!! :smiling5:
This popped up Fleabay just over a week ago and as I was looking for something different, I put in a cheeky last second bid and picked it up for £21...almost all past and current sales are mid-£20s and up, even for Weekend editions.
This is one of their earlier (1999ish) kits and so I'm not expecting quite the same standard as the latest toolings. It's part count is also a lot less then the newer releases with the contents seeming to disappear in the box.
There is also a much newer and more detailed Zvezda 1/48 kit that goes for around £21 plus P&P. That includes a full engine but I'm not that fussed on that front and this being a Profipack has added mask and painted PE too, unlike the Zvezda option.
One reviewer really did it turn it's nose up at this kit but a few were more balanced. As an example, a 2016 review on Hyperscale put it like this:
"Comparisons to Zvezda's 2013-release Yak-3 are probably inevitable. Zvezda's kit occupies a different universe of detail with a full engine bay, separate cowlings and a very high level of general detail. If you want to build a superdetailed Yak-3, Zvezda is the way to go.
However, Eduard's kit still has its charms. It will look as much like a Yak-3 as the Zvezda kit does when it is finished, and it will be a fast, easy build. If you are planning to build a curbside kit as a canvas for one of the many striking marking schemes worn by this little fighter, then the Eduard kit is an excellent option."
So I thought why not?

I suspect he will be fairly obviously out of place … unless you place him very much at the front of the preferred viewing angle, but then you’re limiting yourself to that. The description also said 1/35, but he's much closer to 1/32. I'll paint him up and see how out of place he looks
Have we had a Russian plane GB......I think I have the W/E edition of this, plus all the etch and stuff to bring it up to profipack, plus a set of AK Real just arrived so I can paint it.......
I've 3 or 4 ww2 and the same again cold war......Have we have a Russian plane GB......
