Scale Model Shop

Latest Acquisitions (2023)

Hi all

So first up a timely arrival following a discussion on another thread about useful materials for tarpaulins and how glass cleaning wipes were a good choice.

We all went down to see my mum for lunch today and she mentioned how she had just opened a new box of them and so did want the left overs of the old box. I model....and I wear glasses....so a no brainer.

The box has 18 wipes and scaled up from my usual 1/72 each one equates to 10m x 10m.....so they should keep going for a while!! :smiling5: Quite why she didn't finish the first box I have no idea but call it an early down payment on my inheritance - although the box is showing a excessive amount of wear and tear, and far more than I would have liked!:tongue-out3::smiling5:

As for the golf clubs - 1:1 scale BTW - Junior has shown an interest recently and been down to the local driving range for the last three weekends. My brother used to play but isn't using his clubs at the moment and so has given these to Junior on a long term loan to see if he takes to it!

ATB.

Andrew, maybe Junior will also appreciate "The clicking of Cuthbert" by PG Wodehouse, fun and golf, hole-in-one (or all-in-one... :rolling:).

After a bit of biding my time I finally landed this.

Academy base kit plus Eduard goodies, usually see them go for silly money, but got this delivered for £60, considering the base kit new is more than that and 2nd hand usually goes for about £50 I think I did alright.

One of the few jets I really like the look of.

This arrived today from Italy. Glad to say that it is the right model this time.

Apologies, completely missed your reply. I'll look it up. Must admit I've not read any of his suff!

I got one of these the first time around for a much more modest price back then. It looks a great kit. At one point I did open it up with the intention of starting it but quickly felt it was too much for me to tackle at the time. It remains in my build queue - in the lock up.

Just delivered. An eBay purchase prompted by a binge watching session of The Mandalorian. It turns out that the seller is an old friend from a previous model club I used to attend, what are the chances?

I fancied trying something different before my planned tank diorama so ordered this guy:

A heck of a lot smaller than I'd imagined from the pictures and the first time I've dealt with pewter too. No pressure then! :smiling5:

I don't really have a lot of suitable colours either so I can see a lot of mixing going on, unless I do him in olive drab & panzer grey

Great stuff Andy……28mm isn’t that big is it ;) Looks a good sculpt though. Pewter (white metal) is easy to deal with. I use the same tools and techniques as cleaning up plastic. Basically scalpels as scrapers and folds of fine wet and dry paper to smooth the surface.
