Marks P51D eduard 1/48.

Nice IP there. I assume it’s an Eduard 3D print? If not, that’s some very fine brush work. MG barrels look good as well. Always think you have to at least drill them out, and these were ripe for tubing replacement.

That looks great Mark. There's a lot of very well highlighted detail in that cockpit.

Mark, don't you ever slow down buddy. How many builds do you have on the go??? This one looks like you're off to a great start too. I'll try to keep up!!!....

A bit more done, planes had a quick coat of tamiya rattle can primer this will be followed with a black gloss using vallejo flat black and a coat of acrylic gloss varnish,i have the metal colour gloss primer but its polyurethane and not a fan after a bad experience with poly varnish!
Not really sure what kind of finish i was going for or gonna end up with so after a coat of aluminium on the flappy bits and not being that happy with it i went over with a light dusting of chrome and it looks a bit more like the polished finish ,tried some life colour polished ali and first and wasnt impressed with that either.needs a coat of metal varnish yet but the finish looks better than the photos and its my first go really with metal finish so room for improvement but reasonably happy so far.20220913_224122.jpg20220913_224000.jpg20220913_222241.jpg

Cracking start, those profipacks from Eduard do give good "bang for your buck".

Well its in colour, dont know bugger all about doing metal finish but im pretty happy the way its going so far, even if it is in the wrong colours or finish, just finished painting the darker finish on the wings, when thats dry i will paint the whole thing in vallejo metal varnish then on to painting the colourful bits.20220918_143931.jpg20220918_144700.jpg20220918_144534.jpg20220918_144549.jpg20220918_144831.jpg

Just had a catch up Mark. I'm impressed. Beautifully painted cockpit, really brings out the details. Metallic looks good.
