Project modelling room!

Bob, I realise I'm late to the party, but have you considered an insulated garage door. Admittedly, they do cost a bit, but really work well.

Hi Colin

The room is located about a third of the way into the garage. With plywood walls on both sides and the end walls of the room where they meet the garage walls, with insulation in between. Should be warm enough to both work on and protect the paints. Going to buy 2 cheap thermometers to put in the room and in the actual garage so I can compare the temp.

Do not know if painting the floor will help as well??

Looking good Bob. One thing though. You might regret those paints and spray cans right by the window.

I have an L shaped bench and got very quickly tired of the leg in the angle. It is now removed.

Good point, no doubt as I start to.use the room problems like that will shoe, thanks Ian

Sealing the floor will definitely help. You can just glue sections of solid insulation on the door sections, remember to bevel edges for the bend at roll-up.

Oh you will be so happy in there Bob, you close the door to the horrible outside world we are in at the moment.A sanctuary indeed . Half of the fun is finding where you want to put things .

The only thing I can suggest is think about that floor ! Cold concrete in the winter is not nice .

Will now keep an eye on temp differences between garage and room
Pleased so far

Looking good Bob…..you are going to love it…
Where did the spray booth come from, by the way?

Looks ideal Bob. A real bolt hole from the stresses of life. I like that spay booth.

Ta very much

The new large booth, a joint birthday pressie has arrived. They look fine against each other. However if I leave the side and roof led lights fitted there's the led trunking in the way

I would have to use both turntables to raise a ships hull high enough to clear

If take the lights out I of course lose lights but the floor is level. Out of sight there's a ceiling mounted led batten which gives of good lighting. Will have to experiment??

By far the biggest problem is the ventilation trunking, its very stiff and a bugger to use, so my yearly brainwave!!!!

I am going to use tumbledryer vent pipe instead, so much easier, phew problem sorted!

Bob, I just went through this thread, which I, unfortunately, missed up to now.
A real cosy painting room. Hope you'll enjoy many wonderful and peaceful hours priming, thinning, painting and all the stuff related to the colourful side of the hobby.

Andrea

Loving it Bob!!!

Now where do you live?? And when do squatters' rights kick in?? ;) :smiling5:
