By the looks of it, yes. Odd that one of the wheels has supports for the hub while the others don’t, even though they seem to be identical other than the tread pattern on the tyres.
PE is still useful for things made of sheet metal, like Stug schurtzen and gun shields Richard. You get both strength and scale thickness in those sort of applications. On the other hand, things like PE spokes always look too flat anyway….Looks like they are having the connecting supporting arms in place. There goes PE.
Cheers,
Richard
they wont be for long lol......... but are they all in one piece??
But how fragile? They do look good.
Pretty dam impressive if only to show what can be done and what the future holds ,only concern is at what cost to the customer ,they don't seem like you can knock out mass numbers double time ,still the future looks bright. DaveOn the Copper State Model Facebook page.....................
:surprised: 1/35 Wire wheels for their WWI Armoured cars. No info on how these are made - obviously 3D printing comes in somehow, but are they all in one piece??

Actually,Dave, with this technology you can build as many as will fit on the build plate in the same time it takes to print one.its just a question of how much you want to spend on your machine.Pretty dam impressive if only to show what can be done and what the future holds ,only concern is at what cost to the customer ,they don't seem like you can knock out mass numbers double time ,still the future looks bright. I think that Phase Hanger resin in the US has more or less gone 100% over to 3D printing. Products stil look good and the price pretty much the same (all things considered).Pretty dam impressive if only to show what can be done and what the future holds ,only concern is at what cost to the customer ,they don't seem like you can knock out mass numbers double time ,still the future looks bright. no-one knows yet ,Dave. One of my concerns would be the longevity of the wheels - do these resins become brittle with age? Some plastics do, and 'creep' under load. Does painting affect the mechanical properties?
Dave
No moulds to wear out or damage either Ian. This technology is only going to improve, getting easier to use and faster to print.I think that Phase Hanger resin in the US has more or less gone 100% over to 3D printing. Earlier “rubber” tyres did all of these things Dave. Didn’t stop kit makers using them, or modellers buying them :tongue-out3:One of my concerns would be the longevity of the wheels - do these resins become brittle with age? Dave, that sounds quite portentous - the voice of doom ....time will tell!
