added some blades to the windscreen wipers

Also finished sanding down the seats and added some end panels to the removed door

then I mounted up the various bits on sections of sprue ready for primer and clamped the body in a pair of helping hands

Paint next......

I could go on building accessories for some time but have decided to stop otherwise I will not get the entire build finished

Day off again - had to go for annual diabetic eye checking to see if my eyeballs are about to explode

Downside is the eye drops make vision rather blurred so tricky to do much of anything but I have been able to prime the parts so that's a start

Grinder is remarkable Simon. We have one in the shop. Only use it now to cut off cat. converters for recycle. PaulE

Cheers Paul - I don't think it turned out too badly

Late afternoon when my eyes were coming back to normal I decided to get a top coat on the body - dug out my four aerosol cans of Sandglow and not one of them worked!

I have had them so long the gas has leaked out

Got a bit of a raspberry and a dribble from one can and that was it - bum

Sprayed the body and all the parts in Tamiya matt black - used nearly an entire bottle. They are far too small

Did a bit of experimenting - Vallejo desert yellow mixed with a bit of sand brown gives a reasonable approximation of the Sandglow paint, certainly good enough to create a faded exterior

May get a chance to spray on Wednesday

You can see how 3 cars are easy, four cars carefully, but 5 cars needs the floor jack. A sketch of the old hangout. Elevated ofc. was used for parts storage. Spaces 1 & 2 were for running vehicles only.

Simon, very nice trolley jack & grinder with a plug too, what next? MIG welder? All items very familiar to Range Rover owners. Sandglow, 70's BL colour used on Camel trophy Land Rovers, none of the paint tins working is about par for the course for BL products, probably gone on strike......
Paul, sounds like some people I know, cars all over the place!

Funny you should say that Graeme - I was contemplating doing a welder but then decided I had better throw some paint at it given the rapidly approaching deadline.

Could still be added as an extra though.....

Good thought but aerosols were actually Halfords :smiling:

Another day off tomorrow so hope to get some paint chucked about

Simon, the trolley jack is a jem...grinder and plug so you. The garage wouldn't look the same without these items. The Range Rover seems to be having a resurgance in my neighbourhood...lots of new models sprouting. I didn't know we had that many mega rich to splurge on something this unreliable. Latest I heard there were gearbox problems on the Velar's.

One can't have too many vehicles. To us colonists they are like firearms. The more the merrier! I own six myself, five of which are in running condition. One of which I have owned since I was 18! (50 years and counting). Enough to fill Paul's garage anyway. LOL. Keep 'er going Simon, A MIG welder would be awesome and then some.

Rick - only six, you need to get another so you can use one each day :smiling: Most I've had was three but couldn't afford to keep up the road tax and insurance on them all. As for the welder, keep watching.....

the body parts then got sprayed in my approximation of Sandglow based on the VJ mix of desert yellow and sand brown

it is not far off and once weathered should look the part

I had forgotten how much I dislike trying to spray VJ paint but it got there in the end

I also had a moisture problem due to it being rather cold here today and the compressor running hot - even with a moisture trap every now and then the a/b would spit a burst of water due I suspect to condensation in the hose

Fitted a second moisture trap at the a/b end of the hose and that seemed to cure the problem
